Northern Ship Management AB is hiring an **Accountant** for Northern Offshore Services, based in Gothenburg. Working within the finance team, the role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting and developing the company's financial processes in an international shipping environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate **monthly closing** in line with internal and external standards, carrying out intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing VAT returns, statutory tax filings, and financial statistics. The position also involves coordinating internal and external audits, conducting ad-hoc analyses, identifying process improvements, and contributing to the rollout of new accounting and reporting systems. Applicants must hold a degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent, alongside **at least three years of experience** in accounting. Candidates need solid practical knowledge of reconciliations, monthly closings, and financial reporting. Strong communication and collaboration abilities are required, together with fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language, with Swedish preferred.

We believe you have:
- A relevant degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in accounting.
- Solid knowledge of monthly closing, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- A structured, accurate and solution-oriented approach.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Swedish.
YOUR TASKS
As an Accountant, you will be an important part of our Finance team, contributing to accurate financial reporting and the continued development of our financial processes.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing in accordance with internal and external requirements.
- Perform intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT returns, statutory tax filings and financial statistics.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes.
- Prepare financial reports and ad-hoc analyses.
- Contribute to the implementation of new accounting and reporting systems.
