Nordregio is seeking a **Communication Advisor** to join its communications team in Stockholm. Based at Skeppsholmen, this full-time position focuses on disseminating Nordic research and maximising the visibility of research projects tackling topics such as the green transition and digital inclusion. Duties include advising researchers across a portfolio of projects, developing communication strategies, carrying out editorial work such as news articles and newsletters, hosting digital and physical webinars and workshops, and producing visual content, basic video/photo editing, and graphics for social media. Nordregio offers an **initial contract of up to four years**, with the possibility of extension for up to an additional four years, alongside remote work options by agreement and relocation support for candidates moving from another Nordic country. Applicants must hold a **bachelor's degree** in communications, journalism, or a social science, alongside at least five years of relevant communications experience in areas such as strategic communications, editorial work, and website or social media management. Strong digital skills in Office, web publishing systems, and digital communication tools are required, together with proven analytical abilities and stakeholder networking skills. The position requires **fluency in both English and a Nordic language**.

Main responsibilities
- Acting as a communications advisor to researchers across a portfolio of projects, developing communication strategies and plans, supporting outreach activities, and helping maximise the visibility and impact of research results.
- Editorial work incl. news articles, opinion pieces, newsletters, and invitations.
- Hosting webinars and workshops – digital and physical events.
- Visual content development – basic photo/video editing, and graphic design for social media.
Requirements
- The position requires a bachelor’s in communications, journalism, or a social science degree.
- Communication Advisors are expected to have at least five years of relevant experience in communications, such as strategic communications, editorial work, website and social media management.
- Good command of Office, web publishing systems, and other digital communications tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to take a creative approach to complex problems.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as the skills to work effectively in a cooperative research environment.
- Well-developed communication skills including the ability to network and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partner organisations.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to Nordregio’s commitment to fostering a supportive and equitable workplace.
The applicant must be fluent in English as well as a Nordic language.
What we offer
The position starts as soon as possible - or subject to agreement. Nordregio offers contracts with a maximum length of four years. Subject to further agreement, the contract can be extended for up to four additional years. If you are currently employed by the State in a Nordic country, you are entitled to a leave of absence from your present position for the duration of your employment at Nordregio according to the agreement “Avtale om rettstilling for samnordiske institusjoner og deres ansatte”. Candidates relocating from another Nordic country to Sweden are offered a relocation package as well as a monthly salary addition.
