Embark Studios is seeking a **Data Scientist - Commercial** to drive commercial success, identify growth opportunities, and optimise game monetization strategies. Working closely with game designers, product managers, and business stakeholders, the position involves analysing game performance metrics and player data, developing data-driven monetization strategies, and optimising in-game economies and pricing models. Responsibilities also include designing, building, and maintaining commercial tooling, creating dashboards and reports, and using AI-assisted coding workflows to accelerate development. This is an **on-site role**, and the studio is only considering candidates who currently reside in Sweden. The ideal applicant possesses a strong background in **SQL**, experience with ETLs and data pipelines, and proficiency in **Python** for data modelling, large-dataset analysis, and tool development. Candidates should have experience building tooling or interactive dashboards, familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, and an interest in or experience with games. Strong communication skills in professional English are necessary to present insights and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll partner with game designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to unlock data-driven insights that fuel our business growth and maximize player engagement.
Example of responsibilities
- Analyse game performance metrics and player data to identify business opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimise in-game economies, pricing models, and player engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with business development and product teams to develop data-driven monetization strategies.
- Design, build, and maintain commercial tooling to empower commercial teams.
- Build dashboards and reports to track business performance and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding workflows to accelerate development.

- A creative and curious mind
- Strong background in SQL
- Experience in working with ETLs and data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python for data modelling, analysis over large datasets, and script/tool building
- Experience building tooling or interactive dashboards
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools
