Astek Sweden AB is looking for an **Electrical Engineer – Cable Harness Routing Designer** to support the development of vehicle platforms and sustainable transport solutions. Working across cross-functional engineering teams, the role involves designing and optimizing cable harness routing solutions in **3D CAD** to meet functional, packaging, manufacturability, and cost requirements. Duties include creating and releasing routing models and documentation, collaborating with electrical architects and suppliers, participating in design reviews, and supporting prototype builds, validation activities, and troubleshooting throughout the product lifecycle. Applicants must hold a **bachelor's or master's degree** in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field . Required qualifications include experience in cable harness routing, electrical installations, or mechanical design within product development, alongside proficiency in 3D CAD tools—preferably CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. Candidates need an understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles, experience with multidisciplinary stakeholder collaboration, and strong communication skills in English. Depending on client assignments, approval under applicable security regulations or specific citizenship may be required.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in cable harness routing design to support the development of new vehicle platforms and products. In this role, you will design and optimize cable harness routing solutions that meet functional, manufacturing, serviceability, quality, and cost requirements while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cable harness routing solutions in 3D CAD according to technical requirements and design standards.
- Create, maintain, and release routing models and associated engineering documentation.
- Optimize harness installations for packaging, manufacturability, serviceability, robustness, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with electrical architects, mechanical designers, manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during concept, development, and detailed design phases.
- Support prototype builds, validation activities, engineering changes, and troubleshooting throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience in cable harness routing, electrical installations, or mechanical design within product development projects.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools, preferably CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles.
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills in English, with a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
