Mpya Sci & Tech AB is seeking an **Embedded Software Developer – Steering Systems** for a consultancy assignment with a client in the automotive industry. The position involves contributing to the entire product lifecycle of advanced steering systems for commercial vehicles, from requirement analysis and system design to software implementation, testing, vehicle calibration, releases, and ongoing maintenance. Working in close collaboration with mechatronics engineers, system architects, verification teams, and international suppliers, the developer integrates software solutions with an emphasis on functional safety and cybersecurity. Candidates must hold a **B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Systems**, or a related field, alongside at least five years of experience in embedded software development. Essential technical skills include strong experience with MATLAB and Simulink, AUTOSAR integration and Vector DaVinci, hands-on knowledge of C++ or C#, and familiarity with CANoe and CANalyzer. Additional assets include experience with Git, dSPACE, SystemWeaver, UDS diagnostics, ISO 26262, vehicle dynamics, steering functions, commercial vehicle development, a B or C/CE driving licence, and **proficiency in Swedish**.

About the role
We are looking for an Embedded Software Developer for an assignment with one of our clients in the automotive industry. You'll join a skilled team developing advanced steering systems that improve vehicle performance, safety and the driver's experience.
You'll work across the whole product lifecycle, from requirements and system design to implementation, testing, release and ongoing improvement of steering functions used in commercial vehicles around the world.

What you'll do
- Design, develop and integrate embedded software
- Analyse requirements and write functional specifications
- Implement, test, verify and troubleshoot software
- Handle software releases and maintenance
- Develop with functional safety and cybersecurity in mind
- Work with engineering teams and suppliers around the world
- Test in vehicles, calibrate features and tune functions
- Drive ongoing improvements and take part in technical discussions and decisions
You'll work closely with software and mechatronics engineers, system architects and verification teams, in a team that shares knowledge and cares about doing good engineering.
Who you are
You're an experienced engineer with a strong interest in embedded systems, automotive technology and software development. You like solving complex technical problems together with colleagues from different disciplines. You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly and do well in a team where everyone keeps learning.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Systems or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong experience with MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience with AUTOSAR integration and Vector DaVinci
- Hands-on experience with C++ or C#
- Knowledge of CANoe and CANalyzer
