SkillHuset Sweden AB is seeking an **Engineering Manager – Building Services (Industrial Projects)** based in Luleå for a major industrial transformation project focused on the transition to fossil-free steel production. The role oversees engineering delivery for building services across large-scale greenfield and brownfield CAPEX facilities, covering HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection, and Building Management Systems (BMS). Key responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, directing technical interfaces, conducting constructability reviews, optimizing plant layouts, and managing engineering schedules, cost forecasts, design-to-cost targets, and commissioning documentation in close collaboration with consultants, contractors, and construction teams. Candidates must have at least ten years of industry experience, including a minimum of five years in engineering leadership and at least five years of professional experience in Sweden. Proven leadership in **large industrial engineering projects** within sectors such as steel, pulp and paper, refinery, or oil and gas is required, alongside thorough knowledge of Nordic engineering conditions, standards, interface management, and cost control. **Fluency in both Swedish and English** is mandatory. A PMP, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification, a civil engineering background in heavy industry, experience with brownfield upgrades, and familiarity with CAD/BIM or Swedish and European building services standards are advantageous.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Building Services for a major industrial transformation project supporting the transition toward fossil-free steel production in Luleå.
You will lead engineering delivery for critical building services within a large-scale industrial facility, covering HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering activities across large-scale brownfield and greenfield CAPEX projects
- Manage HVAC, heating, ventilation, VVS, water supply, fire protection and BMS integration
- Coordinate technical interfaces and constructability reviews
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with engineering consultants, suppliers, contractors and construction teams
- Drive technical decisions and optimize plant layouts
- Manage engineering schedules, cost forecasts and design-to-cost targets
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation
- Lead engineering teams and promote continuous improvement
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sweden
- Proven experience managing large industrial engineering projects
- Strong background in steel, pulp and paper, refinery, oil and gas, or similar industries
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and BMS integration
- Experience with interface management, constructability and industrial plant design
- Strong engineering cost control, scheduling and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of Nordic engineering conditions and standards
- Fluent Swedish and English
Meritorious:
- PMP, IPMA or equivalent project management certification
- Civil engineering background within heavy industrial projects
- Experience with brownfield upgrades and industrial start-up coordination
- Knowledge of Swedish and European building services standards
- Experience with CAD/BIM, plant layouts and industrial engineering documentation
