SkillHuset Sweden AB is seeking an **Engineering Manager – Building Services (Industrial Projects)** in Luleå to support a major industrial transformation project focused on fossil-free steel production. Leading engineering delivery across large-scale greenfield and brownfield CAPEX initiatives, the role oversees critical systems including HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection, and BMS integration. Responsibilities involve coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, conducting constructability reviews, driving technical decisions, and managing engineering schedules, cost forecasts, and design-to-cost targets in close collaboration with consultants, suppliers, and construction teams. Applicants must have at least ten years of industry experience, including a minimum of **five years in engineering leadership** and at least five years of professional practice in Sweden. Proven experience managing large engineering projects within heavy industries such as steel, pulp and paper, refinery, or oil and gas is required, alongside deep technical knowledge of building services and familiarity with Nordic engineering standards. Candidates must also possess **fluency in both Swedish and English**. Meritorious qualifications include project management certification such as PMP, IPMA, or equivalent, a civil engineering background in heavy industry, experience with brownfield upgrades, and proficiency in CAD, BIM, and European building standards.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Building Services for a major industrial transformation project supporting the transition toward fossil-free steel production in Luleå.
You will lead engineering delivery for critical building services within a large-scale industrial facility, covering HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering activities across large-scale brownfield and greenfield CAPEX projects
- Manage HVAC, heating, ventilation, VVS, water supply, fire protection and BMS integration
- Coordinate technical interfaces and constructability reviews
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with engineering consultants, suppliers, contractors and construction teams
- Drive technical decisions and optimize plant layouts
- Manage engineering schedules, cost forecasts and design-to-cost targets
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation
- Lead engineering teams and promote continuous improvement
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sweden
- Proven experience managing large industrial engineering projects
- Strong background in steel, pulp and paper, refinery, oil and gas, or similar industries
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and BMS integration
- Experience with interface management, constructability and industrial plant design
- Strong engineering cost control, scheduling and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of Nordic engineering conditions and standards
- Fluent Swedish and English
Meritorious:
- PMP, IPMA or equivalent project management certification
- Civil engineering background within heavy industrial projects
- Experience with brownfield upgrades and industrial start-up coordination
- Knowledge of Swedish and European building services standards
- Experience with CAD/BIM, plant layouts and industrial engineering documentation
