Academic Work is recruiting a **Finnish-speaking Accountant** on behalf of an international technology company, based at their office in Hyllie. Working as part of the finance team, the role focuses on managing financial flows for the Finnish entity. Core responsibilities include day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, VAT and statutory reporting, and actively contributing to monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. The position also involves daily communication and support with Finnish-speaking internal stakeholders and external business partners. Candidates must hold a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from a university, college, or higher vocational education programme. The position requires at least 2–3 years of independent accounting and bookkeeping experience, strong system skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and **fluency in Finnish and English**, both written and spoken. Experience with large ERP systems like SAP and Swedish language skills are considered advantageous. The recruitment process includes both a personality test and a cognitive test.

About the role
In the role of Accountant, you will play a key part in the finance team. You will work in an international setting with a focus on the Finnish market and the company’s financial flows there. Together with a skilled team, you will ensure high quality in daily accounting, monthly and annual closings, as well as financial reporting.

Work tasks
- Day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the Finnish entity
- Active participation in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- VAT reporting and statutory reporting to authorities
- Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and bank accounts
- Communication and support with Finnish-speaking business partners and internal stakeholders
We are looking for
- Holds a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Higher Vocational Education or University/College degree)
- Has at least 2–3 years of experience working independently with accounting and bookkeeping
- Is fluent in both Finnish and English (written and spoken), as both languages are used daily in the role (Swedish is considered a plus)
- Has strong system skills and advanced proficiency in Excel (experience with large ERP systems such as SAP is highly advantageous)
