Axis Communications is recruiting a **Firmware Engineer - Fixed Dome Cameras** based at its headquarters in Lund. Working in an agile product development team alongside specialists in electronics, image quality, mechanical design, and production test, the engineer helps build and maintain the firmware powering next-generation network cameras. The core responsibilities include adapting AXIS OS—the company's Linux-based operating system—designing and implementing new product features, investigating issues across the embedded system from user space to kernel components and device drivers, and continuously assessing and improving overall system performance. Applicants must hold a **bachelor's or master's degree** in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. Candidates need proven experience in firmware or embedded software development with a strong Linux foundation—preferably over five years—alongside solid knowledge of **Linux system programming**, C and/or C++ programming, CI workflows, Git, build tools, agile methodologies, and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools. Experience with debugging tools like GDB and Valgrind, scripting in Python, shell, or Perl, microcontroller-level programming, or agile team leadership serves as an added advantage.
