Key responsibilities include creating a production-ready planning entry point integrated with existing platforms, enabling store staff worldwide to design customer spaces. Working alongside product, business, and UX teams, the engineer will build maintainable frontend solutions and integrations that extend the organisation's current architecture rather than replacing it. Candidates must have strong experience in **TypeScript and React**, component-driven UI development, and design systems. Essential qualifications include skills in UX-driven development, DevOps, AI-assisted specification-driven development, state management, web accessibility, consuming and developing REST APIs, and knowledge of creating **3D user experiences**. Additional advantages include full-stack development, CI/CD experience, 3D visualisation tools like Three.js, Babylon.js, React Three Fiber, or Autodesk Platform Services, as well as background in headless CMS, event-driven architectures, or large-scale retail planning.

Job Description A global retail organisation is looking for a Frontend Engineer to develop digital solutions that support retail operations, store planning and the design of physical customer environments.
The organisation delivers a range of digital capabilities, including web platforms, digital design systems, store planning and optimisation tools, digital retail experiences, learning platforms and knowledge management solutions.
The team is responsible for developing the tools and ways of working that enable thousands of employees across stores worldwide to plan and design customer-facing environments.
Role Overview
The primary focus of this assignment is to build a user-friendly, production-ready planning entry point while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and services.
The successful candidate will work closely with product, business and UX teams to understand user needs, identify optimal solutions and deliver scalable digital experiences. The role requires a strong understanding of modern web architecture, system integrations and component-driven development.
The candidate is expected to build upon the existing architecture rather than replace it, ensuring a clean, maintainable solution that supports the organisation's evolving technical landscape.
Core Requirements
The candidate should:
- Be a collaborative team player who takes ownership of delivering high-quality, production-ready frontend solutions and their underlying integrations.
- Have a strong understanding of modern web technologies, including consuming and developing REST APIs and OpenAPI services.
- Have experience with component-driven UI development and design systems.
- Understand information flows between systems and how to design clean, maintainable integrations.
- Be able to adapt to existing architectures and extend them in a structured and scalable way.
- Collaborate effectively with product, business and UX teams to deliver solutions that meet end-user needs.
Frontend Engineer – Technical Skills
