Hacksaw Studios AB is seeking two to three candidates for the role of **Game Developer (Frontend)**, based on-site at their office in central Stockholm. Working within a tight-knit team alongside front-end developers, designers, and product owners, the role focuses on bringing game concepts to life and actively shaping gameplay design. Key responsibilities include creating new titles, updating existing games, maintaining and implementing features in the studio's game development framework, and participating in code reviews and merge requests. The studio provides opportunities to collaborate with experienced peers, alongside a co-ownership program offered to suitable candidates. The position is open to both junior and senior applicants. Candidates must have experience in a **programming language suited for game development**—such as C#, Haxe, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar—combined with either game development experience or a solid general development background and a strong desire to learn. Applicants need an eye for detail, a focus on performance and player experience, and the ability to take initiative. Helpful assets include familiarity with game engines or libraries such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or Pixi, shader or 3D programming experience, debugging skills, understanding of browser-to-server communication, and social gaming experience. **On-site presence in Stockholm** is required, and visa sponsorship or relocation assistance is not available.

We are currently seeking to expand our development team with 2-3 additional developers and are looking for both junior and senior candidates. You will be part of our game development team and work in a tight-knit team involving both front-end developers and designers. Your task will be to bring our game ideas to life in cooperation with the designers and product owners.
The Role
As a Game Developer at Hacksaw Studios, you will play a key role in bringing our game concepts to life on screen. Gameplay design is a key part of your role, as you help shape how each game feels and plays. Your task will be to bring our game ideas to life in cooperation with designers and product owners.

Your key responsibilities include:
- Work with the development and design team to create new games and update old games, as required.
- Maintain and implement new features into our game development framework.
- Participate in code reviews and merge requests.
- Collaborate with colleagues who have similar roles, both in-house and with our partners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with a programming language suited for game development, such as C#, Haxe, C++, Javascript, TypeScript, or similar.
- Experience with game development, or a solid development background, and a strong desire to learn.
- An eye for detail and an interest in performance and player experience.
- A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to take initiative in your work.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with some form of game development library, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Pixi, or similar.
- Shader programming experience.
- 3d programming experience, such as OpenGL.
- A working knowledge of how a browser communicates with a back-end server.
- Experience in debugging.
- Social gaming experience.
- A personal interest in games and an understanding of the industry, or a desire to learn.
