Graduate Machine Learning Engineer - Central Technology
ARM Sweden AB · Lund · Tills vidare · Deadline 2026-11-27
ARM Sweden AB is recruiting a **Graduate Machine Learning Engineer - Central Technology** to join its Central Technology Machine Learning Content and Algorithm team. Working within the Centre of Excellence for Machine Learning, the role focuses on pioneering future AI computing on Arm architecture by co-designing across hardware, software, and machine learning algorithms. Core responsibilities include analyzing current and emerging ML workloads on Arm compute platforms with an emphasis on performance, power, and area (PPA). The engineer will develop hardware-aware optimization algorithms to run state-of-the-art AI models across CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs, monitor industry technology trends, and build internal tooling to aid algorithmic and architectural exploration. The position offers a **starting salary of SEK 555,000** for Master’s graduates, biannual formal progression reviews, and relocation assistance within Sweden and Europe, with visa sponsorship available. Candidates must hold or be on track to complete a **Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science**, or a related technical field by the programme start date. Requirements include experience developing software in languages such as Python, knowledge of hardware and software design, practical experience training and deploying models with frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, and strong technical communication skills. Advantageous qualifications include demonstrated ML/AI project work in industry or academia, experience optimizing compute kernels such as CUDA or Triton, hardware-aware model optimization, and end-to-end understanding of the machine learning stack from models down to hardware.
The mission of the Central Technology Machine Learning (CTML) team is to pioneer and implement the technology roadmap that paves the way for the future of AI computing on Arm architecture. We believe that innovative AI technology necessitates joint development across hardware, software, and ML algorithms. We will collaborate on finding the best way to balance among all these constraints. The CTML Content and Algorithm team plays a key role within the Centre of Excellence for Machine Learning. We actively support this joint development initiative, conducting in-depth analyses of complex AI models on Arm computing platforms and devising algorithms that will make AI run better on Arm.
What you could be doing as a Graduate?
Develop in depth understanding of current and future ML/AI workload on Arm compute platforms with a focus on their PPA (performance, power, and area).
- Understand and follow the latest technology trends in ML/AI, collecting and analysing these use cases to drive the direction of ML/AI workload support in all phases of Arm IP development.
- Develop hardware aware optimization algorithm that can make state-of-the AI models run on Arm platforms including CPU/GPU/NPUs.
- Develop internal tooling capabilities to support algorithmic and architecture exploration.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Hold (or are on track to hold by the programme start date) a Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical fields.
- Developing and working with software systems in programming languages like Python, good knowledge of Hardware and Software design.
- Experience in training and deploying ML/AI models using deep learning libraries such as Pytorch or Tensorflow.
- Strong technical communication skills.
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Demonstrated ML/AI projects experience in industry or academia.
- Experience with optimizing compute kernels (e.g. CUDA, Triton).
- Hardware-aware performance optimization of ML/AI models.
- Passion and adaptability to the fast-moving AI industry and willing to learn new technology in a very dynamic environment.
- Good knowledge of the whole machine learning stack from model to hardware implementation
Additional Information:
We encourage early applications as we review them on a first come/first served basis. Please provide an academic transcript as part of your application.
Please note that relocation support is available for this role for domestic moves within the country and regional moves within Europe. Visa sponsorship support is also available for candidates who require it.
In Return:
You’ll receive a starting salary of SEK 555,000 (Master level), alongside a comprehensive rewards package. As you develop in role, you’ll have clear opportunities to progress within the salary range at Arm. With mid-year and year-end reviews, you’ll have two formal progression windows each year, recognising your growth.
You can also attend our “Grad-teach-Grads” workshops, guest speaker series, and social events to expand your knowledge. If you’d like to get more involved, you can join the Graduate Committee to further develop your planning, networking, and coordination skills.
You’ll be invited to our Global Graduate Conference (GGC) — an annual event where graduates hear from executive leaders, guest speakers, and build lasting connections.
With many of our leaders and technical specialists having originally joined as a Graduate, will you be next?
