Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking several **IT Cybersecurity Engineers** to join its team in Ludvika. The role focuses on deploying and securing control systems within HVDC deliveries, specifically contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform. Working within system, network, and cybersecurity design, responsibilities include building complete operational network and system infrastructure, implementing features aligned with customer requirements, and ensuring systems meet defined cybersecurity standards. Depending on experience level, engineers will also mentor junior associates, drive knowledge-sharing initiatives, and identify improvement opportunities. The position offers **hybrid work** possibilities by agreement with the line manager. Candidates must hold a **university degree in a relevant technical area**, preferably computer science, or equivalent education or experience. Fluent English communication skills are required for both written work and customer interactions. Applicants must have experience in human-machine interface design and testing—such as Aveva platforms, MicroSCADA, or similar—along with proficiency in SCADA, automation design and testing, and protocols such as IEC101, IEC104, or IEC61850. Technical expertise in databases, high-availability solutions, network equipment including firewalls and switches, and redundant network designs and protocols is also expected.
The Opportunity
You will be part of a team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. You will be responsible for integrating and implementing features aligning with customer- and market requirements. In this position you will serve as a key resource in the assigned area contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform in large HVDC project deliveries at Hitachi Energy. We are now looking for several engineers to join our team in Ludvika!

How you’ll make an impact
- Be part of a team for system-, network-, and cybersecurity design and implementations in HVDC projects
- Building complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations, and ensuring systems and networks contain defined levels of cybersecurity
- Upon level of experience, mentoring junior associates and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Upon level of experience, actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement
Your background
- A university degree within a relevant technical area, preferably Computer Science or other relevant education/experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions
- Experience in human machine interface design and testing, Aveva platform, Microscada or similar
- Proficiency in SCADA, automation design and testing, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850 or similar
- Expertise within databases and high-availability solutions
- Experience with network equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks) and redundant network designs and protocols
