Nextory AB is hiring a **Junior Data Engineer** based in Stockholm to join its central data team. The position involves collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to develop and refine the company's data platform, establishing data foundations for AI products and intelligent agents. Key responsibilities include supporting data ingestion and pipeline maintenance with tools like Airbyte and Dataform, writing basic SQL transformations, building data models, establishing data quality checks, documenting metrics, and supporting the semantic layer in Omni. The role operates under a **hybrid work policy** requiring four days per week in the Stockholm office, with Wednesdays designated as a work-from-home day. A six-month probationary period applies, and relocation assistance is not provided. Applicants should hold a **degree or recently completed studies** in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field. Candidates must have some knowledge of SQL, basic programming experience (preferably in Python), and a demonstrated interest in databases, data modeling, analytics, and AI-driven data solutions. Experience with academic or personal data projects, Git, data modeling concepts, BI tools, or platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, or Airflow is advantageous but not strictly required.

Let us tell you about the role 📖 As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll be a part of our central data team and collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to build and improve our data platform. You’ll play an important role in building the data foundations behind modern AI products and intelligent agents while exploring how AI systems interact with and make use of data in real-world applications.
In this role, you’ll also
- Support data ingestion and pipeline maintenance using tools such as Airbyte and Dataform
- Write and maintain basic SQL transformations, data models, and data quality checks
- Help structure and document data models, metrics, and business definitions
- Support the development of the semantic layer in Omni
- Investigate data issues and help ensure data is accurate, reliable, and easy to use

You value quality, enjoy learning and understand the importance of strong foundations when building scalable and reliable data solutions.
Furthermore, we believe you have:
- A degree or recently completed studies in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field
- Some knowledge of SQL
- Basic programming experience, preferably in Python
- An interest in databases, data modeling, analytics, and modern data platforms
- Curiosity about semantic layers, metrics, information modeling, and AI-driven data solutions
You might have experience with some of the following areas, but don’t worry if you don’t, we’re more interested in your overall potential and willingness to learn.
- School projects, internships, thesis work, or personal projects involving data
- Data modeling concepts such as facts, dimensions, entities, relationships, or star schema
- Tools such as Omni, dbt, LookML, Cube, BigQuery, Snowflake, Airflow, or similar
- Git or other version control tools
- BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or simila
