Professional Galaxy AB is seeking a **Mechanical Design Engineer** for a consulting assignment with a client in the aerospace industry. Based **on-site in the Stockholm area**, the position runs for a period of 3 to 6 months starting in August 2026. The work centers on the mechanical design and development of advanced components and systems using CATIA for modeling and documentation. Responsibilities include collaborating across functional teams to ensure system integration and performance, assisting with material selection and design for manufacturability, and resolving complex design challenges in demanding environments. Applicants must have proven experience in mechanical design at a medior or senior level, alongside documented proficiency in CATIA, preferably version 6. **Fluency in both Swedish and English** is required, and candidates must hold **Swedish citizenship** due to regulatory requirements. Previous mechanical design experience within aerospace or other high-tech industries is preferred. Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is a strong advantage, as is experience working with hard-to-machine materials.

Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design and development of advanced components and systems. - Work with CATIA for modeling and documentation. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and performance. - Contribute to solving complex design challenges in demanding environments. - Support in material selection and design for manufacturability.
Required Competencies
- Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within aerospace or other high-tech industries. - Documented experience and proficiency in CATIA (preferably v6). - Experience level: "Medior" to Senior. - Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is a strong plus. - Experience with hard-to-machine materials is meritorious.
