Mechanical Design Engineer - Wave Energy
Corpower Ocean AB · Stockholm · Tills vidare · Deadline 2026-10-24
Corpower Ocean AB is recruiting a **Mechanical Design Engineer - Wave Energy** to develop and optimise its wave energy converters. Working as part of the mechanical team, the role covers designing mechanical structures and mechanisms from early concepts through to release-for-production. Key responsibilities include performing structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA), conducting failure mode, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) at module level, and producing documentation for verification and certification. The position also involves managing components against performance, cost, and schedule targets, supporting junior engineers, and contributing directly to **assembly, testing, and field installations** alongside cross-disciplinary teams in manufacturing, supply chain, and field operations. Applicants should have **at least five years of experience** designing mechanical systems and industrial equipment, backed by a proven track record of managing end-to-end development across design, build, test, and release phases. Experience with Creo CAD, Windchill PLM, and ANSYS, or equivalent software tools, is expected. Candidates may hold a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, though demonstrated experience and capability are primary considerations. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, while expertise in mooring, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, structural optimisation, fabrication, sensors, or electricity generation equipment serves as an advantage.
Working at CorPower Ocean you will be part of a world-class team, determined to make a big impact. We are on a mission to bring reliable and competitive wave energy to the world. We offer a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, combined with great personal responsibility. CorPower Ocean is a global leader in wave energy, with a technology that has shown game-changing performance. Your work will contribute to the global transition to renewable energy by unlocking one of the largest untapped sources of clean energy on earth.
