Quest Consulting Sverige AB is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** consultant to work with a client on the early development phase of a new machine. Operating in a dynamic, **hands-on environment** that uses a try-fast, fail-fast approach, the role supports equipment, processes, and products from initial concept and simulation through to manufacturing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include the mechanical design and dimensioning of mechanisms and motion systems, designing servo-controlled mechatronic systems, developing technical specifications and layouts, and assisting with test-rig purchasing, assembly, and testing. Candidates must be experienced engineers able to contribute quickly within a small team. The position requires knowledge of mechanical design, mechatronics, injection moulding processes, and mould or tooling design. Applicants should be capable of conducting kinematic and dynamic calculations and simulations in **Creo**—or be able to learn these simulations on the job—while collaborating with simulation experts. Working proficiency in **English** is the main language requirement and is sufficient for the role.

Description
A Mechanical Engineer Consultant to support the development of equipment, processes, and products from concept and simulation through detailed design, manufacturing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
The team is in the early development phase of a new machine, using a try-fast, fail-fast approach. The role covers mechatronics, injection moulding parts, tooling design, and technical documentation. The person should be able to handle mechanical design, perform simple CREO simulations or calculations (or learn on the job), collaborate with simulation experts, and support test-rig purchasing, assembly, and testing. It’s a dynamic, hands-on environment, so we need someone experienced, energetic, and able to contribute quickly in a small team.
The role includes
- Mechanical design and dimensioning of equipment, mechanisms, and motion systems.
- Kinematic and dynamic simulations in Creo, including forces, torque, speed, acceleration, and dynamic loads.
- Design and dimensioning of mechatronic and servo-controlled systems, including servo motors, actuators, transmissions, and sensors.
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes, mould/tooling design, and the interaction between product, tooling, process, and production equipment.
- Development of technical specifications, equipment layouts, and component selection.
- Support during testing, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- English is the main language and is sufficient.
