Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking a **Quality Engineer** to join its Power Transformers unit in Ludvika. Operating within an expanding facility dedicated to high-voltage power transformers and reactors, the position entails driving quality and process improvements across cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining product and process quality standards, monitoring production data, analyzing failure costs, and leading root cause analyses to implement corrective measures. The role also involves managing projects with continuous improvement tools, maintaining the ISO 9001 management system, conducting audits, supporting supplier qualifications, and training staff to build quality awareness. **Hybrid work** arrangements are available in agreement with the line manager. Candidates must hold a **bachelor's or master's degree in engineering**, quality management, or a related technical field, alongside proven quality engineering or management experience within a manufacturing environment. Solid knowledge of quality tools, root cause analysis methods, and audit work with ISO standards is required. Applicants should have experience in Lean Six Sigma (such as Green Belt level), proficiency in data analysis tools like Power BI, and strong analytical problem-solving skills. Professional fluency in both **Swedish and English** is mandatory, covering written and spoken communication.
The Opportunity
Power Transformers is a business unit within Hitachi Energy that manufactures power transformers and reactors up to the highest possible power and voltage levels. The unit in Ludvika has unique global expertise in ultra-high voltage technology and is an important hub for the development of new transformer technology. Power Transformers is currently in a strong growth phase and we are therefore looking for a quality engineer for our quality department. In this role, you will have a central position in the organization and be an important part of the development of both our production and our processes.
How you’ll make an impact
- Drive quality and process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for products and manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures to eliminate quality problems and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor production quality performance, analyze quality data, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce deviations.
- Analyze Failure Costs (COPQ) and drive initiatives that improve quality performance and optimize costs.
- Initiate and lead quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
- Conducting system, process and product audits, ensuring compliance and readiness for certification requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Support supplier qualification, evaluation and development activities to ensure consistent quality standards throughout the supply chain.
- Educate employees on quality tools and practices while promoting quality awareness throughout the organization.
Your background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in quality engineering or quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of quality tools, quality systems and methods for root cause analysis.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods (Green belt, appropriate level)
- Experience in conducting audits and working with ISO standards
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English both in speech and writing
