Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is looking for an **R&D Senior Engineer / Global product support - Filters** based in Ludvika. Focusing primarily on capacitor and filter systems rather than single components, the position serves as a central link connecting functions, coordinating activities, and guiding engineering teams. Core responsibilities include leading global product support projects and work packages, assisting manufacturing, supply chain, and customers with technical and quality issues, and supporting the design and evaluation of filter systems through electrical and mechanical simulations. The role operates in an international cross-functional setting with **hybrid work** possibilities available in agreement with the line manager. Candidates must hold a **master’s degree in electrical engineering** or a related field, alongside at least three years of relevant experience within capacitors and filters. The role requires strong knowledge of high-voltage filter applications, systems, and their underlying components, combined with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities to execute tasks independently. Experience with simulation software such as PSCAD or similar tools is preferred, as is familiarity with CREO or other 3D CAD platforms.

This role is within Capacitors & Filters with main focus on the system rather than on individual components. Potential gaps in knowledge will be developed in cooperation with technical experts as a part of the job. How you’ll make an impact
- Lead GPS projects and work packages.
- Support manufacturing teams, customers, quality, and supply chain with technical issues.
- Guide the team through engineering activities.
- Investigate and solve quality problems reported internally or by customers.
- Support the design and evaluation of filter systems.
- Perform electrical and mechanical simulations.
- Build strong teamwork across global teams and stakeholders to remove obstacles and ensure smooth project execution.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and collaborate successfully within cross-functional teams.
Your background
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ Years of related experience in Capacitors and Filters.
- Strong knowledge & understanding of High Voltage Filter applications and system as well as the components that are included in the system.
- Ability to work independently based upon set goals and objectives
- Ability to plan and execute in a timely manner with high quality.
- Problem solving & analytical skills
- Preferable with experience in simulation tools like PSCAD or similar
- Experience with CREO or other 3D CAD software
