EnginZyme AB · Solna · 6 månader – upp till 12 månader · Deadline 2026-11-30

EnginZyme AB is hiring a **Research Assistant, Process Engineering** for a one-year position with the possibility of extension. Based **on site in Solna, Stockholm**, the role sits within the process engineering team to support the bridge between laboratory, pilot, and commercial implementation of immobilised biocatalysts. Core responsibilities include planning and executing experimental catalytic reaction engineering studies, evaluating catalyst activity, selectivity, stability, and kinetics, and identifying deactivation mechanisms. The work also involves supporting evaluations of chemical operating windows, commissioning and maintaining lab-scale reactor setups, maintaining well-documented records, and presenting findings across the company while upholding laboratory safety standards. Applicants must hold an **MSc in Chemical Engineering** or a closely related field and possess more than one year of wet-lab research experience in academia or industry. A solid foundation in chemical reactor engineering, a methodical approach to laboratory experiments and documentation, and fluency in both written and spoken English are essential. Practical experience with experimental heterogeneous catalysis is considered a strong advantage. Candidates must hold a valid Swedish working permit.

At Enginzyme, we’re pioneering biomanufacturing by combining the power of enzymes with our proprietary enzyme immobilisation platform (EziG®), process engineering, and an automated smart lab.

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our Process Engineering team, where we bridge the gap between lab, pilot and commercial scale implementation of our immobilised biocatalysts. You will contribute hands-on to our catalyst testing and process development activities. You'll be part of a tight-knit and quick-moving R&D group aiming to push catalysts to their limits, and we want to invite you to come along for the journey.

This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension. The role is on site at our office in Solna, Stockholm and a valid working permit is required.

What you’ll do
