Capega is recruiting a **Senior Accounting Specialist** on behalf of Business Sweden, based at their headquarters at the World Trade Center in Stockholm. Working within the Global Finance Operations team and reporting to the Head of Global Finance Operations, the specialist holds a central function supporting month-end and year-end closing and reporting. Key responsibilities include overall ownership of **group accounting and consolidation**, ensuring compliance with the K3 accounting framework, managing financial responsibilities for international offices, participating in establishing legal entities, and assisting with audits and annual reports. The role also acts as the organization's internal expert for Swedish and international tax and VAT matters, overseeing corporate income tax returns, VAT reporting, and process improvements. Applicants must hold a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, alongside several years of qualified accounting experience that covers financial closings, group consolidation, annual reports, and audits within an international setting. Strong practical understanding of internal controls and financial reporting, very good knowledge of Excel and ERP systems, and **proficiency in both Swedish and English** are required. Candidates must also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the K3 accounting standard as well as Swedish and international tax and VAT legislation.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist with a strong business perspective and expertise in group accounting, tax, and VAT. The role provides expert support to the organization on accounting matters.
You will have a central role in the month-end and year-end closing and reporting processes, while also contributing to the development and quality assurance of accounting procedures, processes, and internal controls.
The role is based at Business Sweden’s Headquarters, located in the World Trade Center in Stockholm. You report to the Head of Global Finance Operations and are part of the Global Finance Operations team.
Key responsibilities
- Monthly and annual closings, with overall responsibility for group accounting
- Ensure that accounting and reporting are carried out in accordance with the applicable K3 accounting framework and other external accounting requirements
- Act as the organization’s tax and VAT specialist, providing advice to the business on complex matters and overseeing VAT reporting, VAT reconciliations, and tax-related reporting, including corporate income tax returns
- Participate in the establishment of legal entities and other legal changes
- Financial responsibility for international offices
- Participate in the planning, preparation, and quality assurance of annual reports
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Contribute to the development, standardization, and improvement of existing ways of working
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Several years of experience in qualified accounting, including financial closing, group consolidation, annual reports, and audits
- Experience working in an international environment
- Very good knowledge of the K3 accounting framework
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and international tax legislation and VAT regulations
- Good understanding of internal controls and financial reporting
- Very good knowledge of Excel and business systems/ERP
- High level of proficiency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
