Working within an Agile delivery framework, the role entails designing and implementing Data Warehouse components, robust data transformations, and automated information flows. Key tasks include optimizing performance, scalability, and operational reliability, as well as automating workflows, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and providing technical leadership and mentoring within the team. The position requires at least six years of experience in Data Warehouse development, featuring extensive backend engineering and advanced SQL skills for data modelling. Candidates must demonstrate proven, hands-on experience with **Snowflake**, cloud-based data platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. Additional experience with Azure-based data services such as Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory, alongside proficiency in **Python and dbt**, is advantageous. Familiarity with Data Vault modelling, the SAFe framework, or previous background within insurance, banking, or financial services is also considered beneficial.

Role Summary
An experienced Senior Data Engineer is needed for a consulting assignment focused on developing and enhancing a modern data platform. The platform is built using Snowflake, Azure, dbt, and Python and is delivered through Agile ways of working. The role involves building robust Data Warehouse solutions, data transformations, and information flows while ensuring high standards of performance, scalability, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Data Warehouse components within a modern cloud-based data platform.
- Design and implement data transformations, data pipelines, and reliable information flows.
- Contribute to solution quality, with emphasis on performance, scalability, and operational stability.
- Automate engineering workflows and contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance.
- Provide technical leadership and support the team's technical development.
- Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and team capabilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in an Agile delivery environment.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Strong experience with Data Warehouse development and backend-oriented data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud-based data solutions.
- Advanced SQL skills for data modelling, transformation, and warehouse development.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
- Experience with Azure-based data services is advantageous, including Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Python and dbt is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience
