Rasulson Consulting AB is seeking a **Senior FME and GIT consultant** on behalf of a client to develop system integrations and 3D building models at levels LOD1, LOD2, and LOD2.5. The assignment focuses on refining existing FME scripts, upgrading workflows to the current FME version and ArcGIS Pro environment, and transitioning from Geosecma Primärkarta to the Gaida Primärkarta database model. Responsibilities include introducing BAL BUILDINGID as the primary identifier across all processes, supporting batch processing for complex multi-part buildings, delivering separate feature classes per LOD level, and producing complete technical documentation for internal knowledge transfer. The role is carried out through **remote work with occasional on-site presence** required for discussions. Applicants must have documented expert-level skills in FME Form and FME Flow, alongside solid, documented GIS experience, preferably spanning at least 15 years. The position requires proven experience generating LOD1 to LOD2.5 models, migrating solutions across database models, handling geodata relationships, and working with ArcGIS Pro and geodatabases. **Very good communication skills in Swedish**, both spoken and written, are mandatory. Experience with municipal GIS, Gaida Primärkarta or equivalent base-map databases, BAL identifiers, and integrating FME with ArcGIS Pro within 3D city models are valuable merits.
Senior FME & GIS Consultant – 3D Building Models (LOD1, LOD2, LOD2.5)
Role
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a senior FME and GIS consultant to work on system integration and 3D building models. You have solid, documented experience of FME and GIS, preferably at least 15 years. The work is performed remotely, although on-site presence may occasionally be needed for discussions.
Assignment
You will refine and further develop existing FME scripts used to generate building models at LOD1, LOD2 and LOD2.5. The workflow must be adapted to the database model of Gaida Primärkarta, moving away from the previous model in Geosecma Primärkarta. The assignment also includes upgrading to the current FME version and ArcGIS Pro environment.
BUILDINGID from BAL is to be introduced as the primary identifier throughout every step of the process. The solution must handle buildings made up of multiple building parts and support batch processing of multiple buildings. The models are to be delivered in separate feature classes for each LOD level and integrated with the existing 3D city model.
Expected deliverables
- An updated, tested and deployed FME workflow for generating 3D building models according to the conditions above
- A workflow adapted to the Gaida Primärkarta database model, the current FME version and the ArcGIS Pro environment
- A solution that is sustainable to maintain over the long term and well documented
- Complete technical documentation and knowledge transfer to the GIS and 3D team within the organisation
Mandatory requirements
- Documented experience of creating and processing 3D building models at LOD1, LOD2 and LOD2.5
- Experience of migrating and adapting solutions between different database models, and of handling identifiers and relationships in geodata processes
- Documented expert-level skills in FME Form and FME Flow, including development, troubleshooting and optimisation of advanced workflows
- Ability to produce solution documentation and carry out knowledge transfer
- Very good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, geodatabases and handling of 3D geodata
- Very good communication skills in Swedish, spoken and written
