Infosys Technologies (Sweden) AB is seeking a **Senior Java Backend Developer** based in Gothenburg to deliver connectivity solutions within a diverse DevOps team. Operating in two-week sprints and ten-week program increments, the position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java backend applications alongside cloud-based and serverless solutions on AWS. Key tasks include applying Test-Driven Development (TDD), conducting code reviews, improving deployment practices, and ensuring service scalability and performance across a global environment. The position requires **on-site presence 2–3 days per week** at the Lindholmen office. Candidates must have at least seven years of total IT-related experience with **hands-on Java backend development**, alongside proficiency in Spring Boot, JMS, relational databases, or similar technologies. Additional requirements include experience with AWS and serverless architectures, Node.js, Unix/Linux environments, TDD, Agile methodologies, and strong communication skills. A solid background in microservices, application design, and load testing is highly desirable, while experience with CI/CD, Docker, SAFe, and the automotive or connected vehicle industry is considered advantageous.

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team in Gothenburg. You will be part of a diverse DevOps team working in two-week sprints and ten-week program increments to deliver connectivity solutions
In this role, you will focus on backend development using Java and AWS technologies, working closely with a global team in an Agile environment. We are looking for someone who is technically strong, collaborative, open to feedback and keen to contribute to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust Java backend applications and services.
- Contribute to the development of cloud-based and serverless solutions on AWS.
- Work within a DevOps and Agile environment, contributing throughout the development lifecycle.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to support high-quality and maintainable code.
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across a global working environment.
- Contribute to the scalability, performance and reliability of backend solutions.
- Support continuous improvement of development, testing and deployment practices.
Required
- Minimum 7+ years of total IT-related experience, with hands-on Java backend development experience.
- Strong experience with Java and backend technologies such as Spring Boot, JMS and relational databases, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with AWS, including serverless technologies.
- Experience with Node.js.
- Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Experience working effectively in a global and collaborative environment.
- Comfortable participating in code reviews and giving and receiving technical feedback.
- Good understanding of scalability, microservices architecture and application design is highly desirable.
- Experience with load and performance testing is advantageous.
- Additional experience with CI/CD, AWS CDK, CodePipeline, Docker, serverless development and SAFe would be beneficial.
- Previous experience within the automotive industry and connected applications/connectivity would be an advantage.
- Willingness to work from the Lindholmen office in Gothenburg 2–3 days per week.
