Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer
Ohb Sweden AB · Stockholm · Tills vidare
OHB Sweden is recruiting a **Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer** to support the development, assembly, and testing of satellites and subsystems. Based in Stockholm, the role covers the full analysis chain, with a focus on structural and dynamic components using finite element modeling for stress, shock, and random vibration. Key duties involve leading technical discussions with customers and payload suppliers, defining test setups and specifications for subsystem qualification, correlating finite element models with physical test results, and supervising off-site component testing. The position also supports on-site assembly, the design and testing of mechanical ground support equipment, project budgeting, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, space engineering, or a related discipline, alongside at least **10 years of experience** in CAD, mechanical FEM analysis, and design and testing environments. Requirements include experience with ESA projects, knowledge of ECSS, fluency in written and spoken English, and expertise with NASTRAN, Altair HyperMesh, and OptiStruct. Proven leadership, skills in design-to-manufacture processes, and residing in or willingness to **relocate to Stockholm** are essential. Familiarity with CREO, NX, Windchill PLM, requirements verification, and vibration test procedure drafting is advantageous.
OHB Sweden is a leading Swedish supplier of space systems. We develop, build, test and commission satellites and subsystems for space missions in, for example, communication, earth observation and space research for institutional and commercial customers within and outside Europe.
Building a satellite requires a broad range of expertise, involving the analysis, design, manufacturing, and testing of both hardware and software. At OHB Sweden, we offer engineers an exceptional opportunity to expand their technical skills across all domains.
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer with space experience of the complete chain in FEM analysis, and follow-on testing of the manufactured product and satellite systems.
Collaborating with external partners (customers, payload suppliers, etc.) to define and implement different analysis models and interfaces will be an integral part of your daily responsibilities.
