Candidates must have strong hands-on **Pascal programming experience**, covering compilation, linking, and runtime troubleshooting, paired with advanced PostgreSQL skills in SQL, query optimization, and relational database design. Practical experience with DEC Forms or comparable forms-processing frameworks is required, as is experience with OpenVMS, Linux, Unix, or similar enterprise operating systems, and a demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues across application and database layers. About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Pascal Developer with strong database skills and experience maintaining, developing, and troubleshooting legacy enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Pascal programming, PostgreSQL databases, and forms-based user interface systems. Familiarity with OpenVMS, Linux, or Unix-like operating systems is highly desirable.
You will work on business-critical applications, ensuring system stability, performance, maintainability, and reliable integration between application modules and database components.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot applications written in Pascal.
- Compile, link, debug, and optimize compiled applications in enterprise environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database objects, including stored procedures, queries, and relational schemas.
- Perform SQL query optimization and troubleshoot database performance issues.
- Ensure transactional integrity, data consistency, and reliable database operations.
- Maintain and support DEC Forms or equivalent forms-based user interface systems.
- Manage concurrent execution sessions and interactions between front-end forms and back-end application modules.
- Diagnose and resolve application, database, and runtime issues.
- Work with legacy systems running on OpenVMS, Linux, or Unix-like operating systems.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure reliable application delivery and ongoing system support.
Required Technical Skills
- Pascal: Strong hands-on programming experience, including compilation, linking, debugging, and runtime troubleshooting.
- PostgreSQL: Advanced SQL knowledge, stored procedures, query optimization, transaction management, and relational database design.
- Forms-based UI systems: Experience with DEC Forms or comparable terminal-based or forms-processing frameworks.
