Core responsibilities include facilitating architectural reviews, promoting automation and platform-first approaches, embedding DevSecOps practices, and mentoring engineers while collaborating closely with enterprise architects, platform teams, and engineering managers. Candidates must have at least **8+ years of experience** across software engineering, solution architecture, or software architecture, alongside proven expertise in **distributed systems and AWS cloud-native applications**. Demonstrated proficiency with serverless and event-driven patterns, microservices, APIs, Domain-Driven Design, and Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform is essential, as is experience with cloud security, compliance, and observability. Job Overview

Assignment Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Architect to drive the architectural evolution of an implementation framework supporting Digital Services. You will provide architectural leadership across multiple product and platform teams, define technical standards and guide the adoption of secure, scalable and cost-efficient cloud-native solutions.

What You Will Work On

Drive the architectural evolution of the OPERA framework and engineering practices.
Define and maintain reference architectures, technical standards and architectural guidelines.
Guide teams in designing scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions.
Promote standardisation, reuse, automation and platform-first thinking.
Support cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps and engineering best practices.
Facilitate architectural reviews and contribute to technology decisions.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Platform Teams and Enterprise Architects.
Mentor engineers and architects and strengthen engineering culture.

What You Bring

8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or software architecture.
Proven experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
Strong knowledge of AWS and modern cloud architectures.
Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures.
Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, integration patterns and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
Infrastructure as Code experience using AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
Experience defining cloud security and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging and operational excellence.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience with Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms.
AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
