Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is looking for a **Senior Software Development Manager (ADMS)** to lead the development of its Network Control ADMS solution. Reporting to the Global Head of Network Control Solutions Development, the role directs multidisciplinary, global development teams through the full software development lifecycle to deliver releases on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Core responsibilities include managing project priorities, planning features, supporting scrum ceremonies, resolving technical and resource escalations, and implementing **AI-based SDLC** and software development governance. The position collaborates with PMO, product management, testing, security, and global stakeholders, with flexible working hours governed by a collective agreement. Applicants must hold a **bachelor’s degree in power system engineering** or in computer science with a power system engineering background, alongside over ten years of ADMS-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A background in software architecture and AI SDLC is required, as is exposure to network control and software technologies such as SCADA, EMS, GMS, or power system applications. Candidates must also demonstrate experience leading multicultural software teams across global time zones and possess excellent communication skills for reporting, presentations, and cross-functional collaboration.
The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is looking for a Senior Manager, Software development to lead development of the Network Control ADMS solution.
The Senior Manager, Software Development is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary, global development teams in the planning, development, management and tracking of delivery releases that meet committed scope, timeline, and budgetary requirements in compliance with quality standards and goals.
A person in this role will be directing and providing oversight to technical global teams ensuring successful development and delivery of Network Control solutions.
This role will manage the full software development lifecycle for the teams under responsibility. This role may perform product design, bug verification, and beta support which may require technical research and analysis. Responsibilities include ensuring AI based SDLC, adherence to software development processes defined by multiple discipline practice areas and supporting the governance of those review processes.
This role will report to the Global Head of Network Control Solutions Development and will require collaboration with the PMO, Product Management, SW engineering, Testing, Quality, Security and relevant global stakeholders as part of the process of delivering.
How you'll make impact
- Leading to delivering top quality products on time and on budget. Bring AI and predictability to the team’s overall performance and delivery.
- Serve as escalation point for issues beyond project teams’ authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.
- Work closely with senior engineers and relevant stakeholders to develop the best technical design and approach for product development.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
- Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.
- Support scrum ceremonies for the team where needed (Planning, Retrospective, Grooming & Review/Demo).
- Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost-effective manner. Act as a conduit to other teams and lines of business stakeholders.
- Track and produce key metrics (e.g., burn-down, burn-up charts, and cumulative flow diagram).
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in power system engineering or computer science with power system engineering background
- Over 10 years of ADMS related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Exposure to the relevant network control and software technologies development, such as SCADA, EMS, GMS, Power System Applications
- Ability to lead global software development multicultural teams in global time zones, managing multiple priorities that may have ambiguous requirements.
- Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills, critical thinker, and self-starter.
- Excellent communications skills with all levels of employees and both internal and external customers-including presentations, negotiations, and written reports.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining view of the strategic direction and being as detailed as needed.
- Willing and able to get down in the details and provide support to make things happen.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding schedule constraints and technically challenging programs.
- International experience with global projects and collaboration with multicultural teams, a global mindset.
- Proactive, collaborative, flexible attitude.
- Software Architecture and AI SDLC background.
