Sinch Operator Software AB is hiring a **Senior Software Engineer** within Sinch Telco, focusing on accelerating the adoption of **AI-driven development** practices. Working on complex, protocol-heavy distributed backend systems for global mobile operators, the role involves functioning as a hands-on engineer who uses AI agents to design, build, verify, and deliver software. Responsibilities include managing AI agents across requirements analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and deployment, as well as evaluating, selecting, and configuring agent frameworks and AI tools to spread effective workflows across development teams. Candidates must have **extensive software engineering experience** with proven skills in designing and evolving distributed backend architectures. Essential requirements include hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools like Copilot, Cursor, or Claude for production software delivery, experience with AI-driven workflows and multistep task orchestration, practical experience with the Model Context Protocol, and strong communication skills in English. Experience with telecom systems, BSS/OSS, messaging infrastructure, or multi-agent frameworks is considered a plus. Applicants must hold Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship or a valid Swedish work permit, as relocation support is not offered.
Sinch Telco is a standalone business within Sinch. Our products support communications services for mobile operators around the globe. Our systems are backend systems that communicate with other backend systems. You will not find them on Sinch's public website. We are protocol heavy and regard USSD, SMPP, Diameter, and SIP as about as much frontend it gets in our domain. We are looking for an experienced software engineer with focus on AI-driven Development, to further accelerate adoption of AI-powered development practices across Sinch Telco.
In this role, you’ll be a hands-on practitioner, leveraging AI agents to design, build, verify and deliver our type of software while shaping how AI is applied in our software development. Together we move toward a paradigm where software developers manage teams of specialized AI agents for requirements analysis, implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment. We intend to unlock new capabilities that enable teams to build and ship faster with higher quality, security, and maintainability.

As our Software Engineer, you will:
- Work in a team as a highly productive, hands-on software engineer, leveraging agents to deliver features and products across multiple areas.
- Lead by example to spread best practices, workflows, and tooling for AI-assisted development for coding, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Assist in evaluation, selection, and configuration of AI development tools and agent frameworks to improve software development.
- Define clear requirements and product direction with a product management perspective in cooperation with product managers and team members.
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive software engineering experience, with a proven ability to design, evaluate, and evolve software architectures.
- Solid understanding of complex distributed backend systems. Experience with telecom systems, BSS/OSS, or messaging infrastructure is a plus.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, for production software delivery, not just experimentation.
- Experience working with AI-driven development workflows, including autonomous coding agents and multistep task orchestration.
- Ability to define clear, structured, and decomposable requirements for both engineers and AI agents, with strong product awareness and long-term stability.
- Practical experience with Model Context Protocol. Experience with multi-agent frameworks is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts, document approaches, and collaborate effectively across teams.
