Software Architect
Nordic Investin Group Aktiebolag · Stockholm · Tills vidare
Nordic Investin Group is recruiting a **Software Architect** on behalf of a partner company aligning several products and engineering teams around a shared technical direction. The position provides hands-on technical leadership, tasked with developing target architectures, defining realistic transition paths, evaluating service boundaries and data ownership, and converting security and resilience requirements into practical engineering guidance. Working in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain, and operations colleagues, the architect stays close to implementation through code reviews and technical discovery, establishing lightweight decision records while enabling teams to operate independently without unnecessary hierarchy. Candidates need a broad software engineering background with **senior delivery experience** and a demonstrated history of architectural work across multiple teams or domains. Strong expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and data modelling is essential, alongside the ability to communicate credibly across engineering teams, product leaders, and executives. Fluency in **professional English** is required, while Swedish may be required for public sector partners. Beneficial experience includes cloud platform architecture in AWS or Azure, legacy modernisation, and working in regulated or safety-critical environments. Specific employment terms, partner identity, and working arrangements are disclosed during the recruitment process.
Nordic Investin is recruiting a Software Architect on behalf of one of our partner companies. You want architecture to improve delivery decisions, not become a layer of diagrams detached from the code.
The partner is aligning several products and engineering teams around a clearer technical direction. You will define practical principles, support major design choices and help teams modernise without freezing delivery.
The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product.
How you will work
You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later.
This is a leadership role with hands on responsibility for direction, decisions and the capability of others. You will create enough structure for teams to move independently, while stepping into detail when risk or ambiguity demands it. The partner wants visible ownership without unnecessary hierarchy.
What you will do
- Develop target architecture and realistic transition paths.
- Facilitate design decisions across product and platform teams.
- Evaluate service boundaries, integration patterns and data ownership.
- Turn security, resilience and compliance needs into engineering guidance.
- Create lightweight decision records and reusable reference patterns.
- Stay close to implementation through reviews and technical discovery.
What you will bring
- Broad software engineering background with senior delivery experience.
- Evidence of architecture work across several teams or domains.
- Strong distributed systems, API and data modelling knowledge.
- Ability to balance strategic direction with incremental change.
- Credible communication with engineers, product leaders and executives.
- Professional English; Swedish may be required for public sector partners.
Experience that would add value
- Cloud platform architecture across Azure or AWS.
- Modernisation of a large legacy estate.
- Experience in a regulated or safety critical environment.
A background that can succeed here
You may have developed from backend engineering, integration, cloud platforms or technical leadership. The successful architect will be able to earn trust in a code review and make a complex investment decision understandable in a steering group.
What makes the opportunity interesting
The partner offers a genuine mandate to improve how technical decisions are made. You will influence systems, team boundaries and investment priorities while keeping architecture grounded in products that must continue to operate.
The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time.
The recruitment conversation
During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.
How to apply
Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.
