Description: We are now looking for a subcontractor who can take on an assignment with up to 5 software developers 5G-RedCap.
The customer's business is facing the next step in the digitalization of their processes and is now looking for an external partner to develop a new generation of industrial IoT sensors. The aim of the project is to create an energy-efficient, cost-effective and future-proof sensor solution that can be seamlessly integrated into existing and upcoming cellular network infrastructures.
The goal is to develop a fully functional hardware and software prototype of a sensor that leverages the benefits of the new 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) standard. The sensor will be designed to balance high reliability and low latency with optimized power consumption and a reduced component cost compared to traditional 5G devices. The assignment covers the entire development chain from concept and architecture to finished prototype. The following technical specifications and requirements are central to the project:
- Communication technology: Integration of 5G RedCap (3GPP Release 16/17) as the primary communication bearer to ensure long life and optimal bandwidth utilization.
- Hardware design: Appropriate choice of RedCap modem/chipset and integration of relevant sensor elements adapted for our application.
- Software and firmware: Development of embedded software for sensor data collection, packaging and secure transmission to the cloud via encrypted protocols.
- Testing: Verification of sensor performance, signal strength, and power consumption in a relevant 5G test environment.
The consultant shall:
- Meet competency level 3
- Express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Have experience in development and technical implementation within hospital properties, with particular understanding of the specific requirements and regulations that characterize healthcare environments.
- Have many years of experience with the wireless communication interface LoRaWAN and experience with 5G RedCap
- Possess knowledge and have a strong understanding of 5G-Slicing/5G-Core and 5G-RAN.
- Have documented experience of independently leading, coordinating or substantially contributing to the design, application or implementation of projects funded by the EU.
The consultant should:
- In-depth knowledge and experience of application development for both device and cloud environments.
- Experience with IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP and LwM2M for efficient communication between devices and the cloud. It is also an advantage if the supplier has practical experience in electronics design and PCB construction (printed circuit boards), which provides a deeper understanding of the hardware architecture and interaction with the software.
- Have expertise in Device Management API in the cloud. The supplier should have experience with cloud-based solutions for Device Management API.
- Documented experience from large-scale rollout projects, where coordination, logistics and deployment of complex systems have been carried out on a large scale.
- Experience in connecting and configuring external sensors via communication protocols I2C/SPI/Modbus/Ethernet.
- CE certifications RED 2014/53/EU and 2014/30/EU
