Avinode Aktiebolag is hiring a **Software Engineer-Flight Operations** to join a multidisciplinary product team alongside a Product Manager, UX Designer, Test Lead, and fellow engineers. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and releasing business-critical features for the business aviation industry, developing solutions within an existing C# .NET monolith and React frontend while potentially building new services. Responsibilities also include modernizing the codebase to reflect current best practices and researching technologies beneficial to the wider engineering organization. The company offers **flexible work locations** to help employees manage their schedules. Candidates must have at least **three years of experience** building systems in the .NET ecosystem and React frontends. While specialization in either the frontend or backend is acceptable, engineers must be ready to contribute across the entire stack when necessary. Applicants also need experience with relational databases and ORMs, proficiency in SQL (such as MS SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle), familiarity with standard software development practices, and strong written and verbal communication skills across distributed, multi-time-zone teams.
As a Software Engineer, you will work with your team on development of new features for the Avinode Flight Operations product offering. As a member of a product team made up of a Product Manager, UX Designer, Test Lead, and Software Engineers, you will plan, implement, and release business-critical features for customers across the business aviation industry.
What you will do
- Working together with your teammates, develop appropriate technical solutions to implement new product features and improve current features. You will be working both in our existing C# .NET monolith and React frontend as well as potentially developing new services.
- Work to bring our codebase up to date with current best practices, libraries, and platforms.
- Research and advocate for new technologies and techniques that would be beneficial to your team and/or the wider Engineering organisation.
Who you are
- You have 3+ years of experience building systems in the .NET ecosystem and React frontends. You may be more specialised in the frontend or backend, but you will be expected to contribute to all parts of the stack when necessary.
- You have some experience working with relational databases and related technologies such as ORMs, and some proficiency with SQL (we use MS SQL Server, but experience with Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, etc. is fine).
- You are familiar with software development and delivery best practices, and are committed to consistently following the team’s standard practices.
- You communicate well. With offices in multiple time zones and multiple countries, this position requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
