Swedbank is seeking a **Software Engineer for the Pega Platform** based in Sundbyberg, Stockholm. Working within agile teams under flexible hybrid arrangements, the engineer develops, tests, analyzes, and maintains the bank's central Pega platform, which supports multiple core banking processes. Key responsibilities include implementing new features, evolving robust and scalable platform solutions in line with architectural principles and best practices, and troubleshooting complex distributed systems. Applicants must have a **bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent competence** acquired in another way, alongside solid experience in Pega and/or platform development with large-scale solutions. The role requires an understanding of platform architecture, familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, experience adapting vendor-delivered platforms, and **some knowledge of Java**. Broader experience across other areas of IT is considered an asset, as the position targets an IT generalist rather than solely a Pega expert. - Develop, test, analyze and maintain the Pega platform that support several of the bank's core processes
- Work together with other developers in agile teams to enable new features and improvements with high quality
- Build and evolve robust, scalable solutions based on Pega best practices and the bank's architectural principles
- Work proactively, anticipating our users’ needs and deliver on them.
What is needed in this role:
- A bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent competence acquired in another way
- Solid experience in pega and/or platform development, with a track record of building, configuring, and maintaining large-scale platform solutions
- An understanding of platform architecture, including how to balance configuration, extensibility, and long-term maintainability
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release management in a platform context
- Having experience from other parts of IT is a meriting in this recruitment. We are looking for a generalist rather than a Pega expert. Java knowledge is needed to some extent.
- Experience of working with vendor-delivered platforms and adapting them to organizational needs
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex, distributed systems
