Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is looking for a **Supply Chain Engineering Specialist** to act as the primary supply chain interface in cross-functional projects. The role entails coordinating supply chain deliverables across the entire project lifecycle, including new product introductions, product changes, phase-outs, and factory improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities involve managing end-to-end procurement processes, conducting supplier evaluations, leading supplier selection alongside strategic buyers, and securing material availability for pilot production and production start. The position also involves identifying supply chain risks, supporting supplier qualification with Supplier Quality Engineering, and contributing to the continuous improvement of industrialization processes under **hybrid work** possibilities. Applicants must hold a **bachelor’s or master’s degree** in engineering, supply chain management, business, operations, or equivalent experience. The role requires experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams within an industrial or manufacturing environment, alongside a solid grasp of sourcing, commercial negotiations, and risk management. Fluency in both **English and Swedish**, written and spoken, is required. It is meritorious to have prior experience in supply chain management or procurement, working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP), familiarity with manufacturing processes, or experience with PPAP, NPI processes, and quality assurance.
The opportunity
As a Supply Chain Engineering Specialist, you will serve as the dedicated SCM representative in cross-functional
projects, ensuring that all supply chain and supplier-related activities are planned, executed, and delivered on time.
You will act as the single point of contact for Supply Chain Management within projects, coordinating activities across Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Production Quality and others. You will own and drive all SCM-related deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
How you'll make an impact
- Act as the SCM representative and primary SCM interface in new product introduction (NPI), product change, product phase-out and factory improvement projects.
- Coordinate supplier-related project deliverables, ensuring material availability, supplier readiness, and
- on-time execution of project milestones.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for project materials, including RFQs, supplier evaluations, sourcing recommendations and purchase order execution.
- Lead supplier selection with strategic buyers to identify the best long-term supplier.
- Identify supply chain risks, proactively develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues when required.
- Initiate and follow up supplier qualification activities together with Supplier Quality Engineering
- Secure material availability for pilot production, zero series, and production start.
- Support continuous improvement of product implementation and industrialization processes from a supply chain perspective.
Your background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations,
- or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of sourcing processes, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and supply chain risk management.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to tackle complex problems, prioritize actions and deliver results under changing conditions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel activities and stakeholders.
- Self-driven and a strong sense of ownership
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
Meritorious:
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier networks
- Previous experience within Supply Chain Management, procurement or related activities
- Experience working in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Experience with PPAP, NPI processes, supplier qualification, or quality assurance
