Operating within a modern DevOps setup alongside multiple development teams, the role balances **hands-on development and architectural work** in an agile framework characterized by short iterations and longer planning cycles. Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining backend services using Java and Spring Boot, designing scalable software architectures, and guiding overall system direction. The position also entails making architectural choices, developing distributed and asynchronous applications in AWS, supporting CI/CD automation and testing standards, and mentoring team members. Applicants must have proven leadership experience as a **Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or equivalent**, alongside extensive professional background in Java backend engineering. Essential requirements include strong expertise in Spring Boot, advanced knowledge of TypeScript, solid practical experience with AWS (especially serverless), microservices architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases, and asynchronous programming. Candidates also need practical familiarity with Unix/Linux, GitHub, TDD, CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies (such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban), and fluent professional English. Experience in automotive or mobility tech, connected vehicles, AWS CDK, Docker, or performance optimization is advantageous.
About the Assignment We are looking for a highly experienced Tech Lead with a strong background in Java, cloud technologies, and software architecture for a long-term assignment based in Gothenburg. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will combine software development with architectural responsibilities. You will contribute to both the implementation of solutions and the technical direction of the wider platform. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys working close to the code while also being comfortable discussing architecture, making technical decisions, and guiding other developers. You will work in a modern DevOps environment together with several development teams. The organization follows an agile way of working with short development iterations and longer planning cycles. Your Responsibilities As a Tech Lead, you will be involved in both technical delivery and architectural development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership within the development team
- Developing and maintaining backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Designing scalable and maintainable software solutions
- Contributing to overall system and solution architecture
- Evaluating technical approaches and making architectural decisions
- Working with AWS and cloud-native technologies
- Developing distributed and asynchronous applications
- Collaborating closely with developers, architects, and other technical stakeholders
- Supporting engineering best practices around testing, quality, and automation
- Contributing to CI/CD and continuous delivery processes
- Sharing knowledge and supporting the technical growth of the team

Required Experience We are looking for someone with extensive experience in backend development who has previously taken on technical leadership responsibilities. - Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Technical Lead, Team Lead, Lead Developer, or similar
- Strong professional experience with Java backend development
- Advanced knowledge of TypeScript
- Solid experience with AWS, particularly serverless technologies
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and software design
- Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong experience with Spring Boot
- Experience with asynchronous programming
- Practical experience with GitHub
