ABB AB is recruiting a **Test Lead ABB Process Control Platform** to join its R&D team in Malmö. Reporting to the Cluster Manager CION, the role focuses on quality assurance for the next generation of ABB's Distributed Control System used globally in process industries. Main responsibilities include leading and developing the Product Integration Test (PIT) team of 6–7 engineers, acting as **Scrum Master**, and steering automated testing across embedded controllers, backend services, engineering components, communication layers, and libraries. The work involves driving the globally deployed PIT test framework developed in Malmö, defining test strategies, reporting quality metrics, and ensuring coverage for cybersecurity, redundancy, hot swap capabilities, safety, performance, and stability. Applicants must hold a **bachelor's degree** in engineering, computer science, electronics, software engineering, or a related technical field. Required qualifications include proven leadership experience as a test lead or in a similar role spanning software and hardware, as well as experience testing physical products and systems in complex environments. Candidates also need hands-on automated testing experience, knowledge of containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps, basic software development and scripting skills, and excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.

As a Test Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of a global product developed in Malmö and deployed across ABB's Process Automation portfolio.
You will lead a growing team of test engineers and drive the development of advanced automated testing solutions for a highly complex technology environment. Your role and responsibilities
- Lead and develop the PIT (Product Integration Test) team, currently consisting of 6-7 engineers and expected to grow.
- Drive the development of automated test solutions for both embedded controllers and engineering components.
- Oversee testing of backend services, advanced engineering tools and editors, communication layers, software libraries, and complex platform functionality.
- Ensure quality and coverage for critical areas such as redundancy, hot swap capabilities, cybersecurity, safety, performance, and system stability.
- Lead the continued development of the PIT test framework, a platform developed in Malmö and intended for global use across ABB.
- Report test progress, quality metrics, and overall test status to development projects and stakeholders.
- Plan and coordinate test activities within the team while acting as Scrum Master.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve the test strategy and test processes.
- Collaborate closely with other testing organizations and development teams within Process Control Platform R&D to ensure a consistent quality approach.
Qualifications for the role
- Proven experience as a Test Lead or in a similar test leadership role within software and hardware development.
- Experience testing physical products and systems in complex technical environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing and test frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with scripting and basic software development.
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.
