Academic Work is recruiting a senior **Backend Developer** on behalf of a client in Lund to build building-management solutions that push data to the cloud. Working in a cross-functional setup alongside product owners, QA, and DevOps, the role focuses on developing scalable backend services, managing and optimizing SQL databases, and integrating systems with cloud infrastructure and frontend interfaces across the full development lifecycle. The position operates on a **hybrid model with 2–3 days onsite per week** in Lund, with no fully remote option. Applicants need an educational background in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent, alongside **good knowledge of C#, Go, or Java** and solid competence in SQL and database management. Professional proficiency in English is required. Prior experience with frontend or fullstack development, basic knowledge of .NET, and personal development projects built outside formal studies are considered meritorious. The selection process includes both a personality test and a cognitive test.

About the role
As a senior Backend Developer, you will join a growing department of several professionals, including POs, QA, and DevOps. You will focus on backend systems and database management while collaborating on overlapping fullstack disciplines to push data to the cloud.

Work tasks
This role focuses on developing scalable backend solutions, managing databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build next-generation cloud services.
- Develop and maintain robust backend services using C# or Go, or Java
- Design, optimize, and manage SQL databases to ensure efficient data flow
- Collaborate in cross-functional feature teams to deliver high-quality web applications
- Integrate backend systems with cloud infrastructure and frontend interfaces
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment
We are looking for
- Good knowledge of backend development using C# or, Go, or Java
- Good knowledge of SQL and database management
- Professional proficiency in English
- Educational background in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
It is meritorious if you have
