Techla Group AB is seeking **backend developers** in Gothenburg, available under either **regular employment or freelance and subcontractor setups**. Placed directly within client development teams, developers work on cloud-based backend services across the entire lifecycle, from design and coding to deployment, operations, and continuous monitoring. Depending on the specific assignment, daily tasks involve building REST APIs and microservices, designing scalable cloud-native architectures, containerizing applications with Kubernetes, managing CI/CD automation, and contributing to architectural decisions and code reviews using stacks that include Java, Spring Boot, Python, AWS, and Azure. Candidates must hold a **BSc or MSc in Engineering, IT, or a related field** alongside at least five years of backend development experience. Solid hands-on proficiency in Java, experience working with AWS or Azure, a background in building customer-facing systems, and fluent English communication skills are required. Prior experience with CI/CD or DevOps practices, AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda and DynamoDB, and industry exposure to IoT, connected systems, telecom, or the automotive sector are considered advantageous.

What you’ll be working with
You’ll join a development team at one of our clients, working with modern cloud-based backend services and complex technical challenges. Depending on the role, the stack may include Java, Spring Boot, Python, AWS, Azure and Kubernetes.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, DevOps-oriented team with responsbility for the full lifecycle of its services – from development and implementation to deployment, monitoring, operations and continuous improvement.
Your work may include:
- Developing and maintaining backend services in Java, Spring Boot and/or Python
- Designing scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS or Azure
- Building REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems
- Working with Kubernetes and containerized applications
- CI/CD, automation, monitoring and logging
- Participating in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions
Skills & Qualifications
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 5 years of backend development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java
- Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
- Experience building customer-facing systems
- Fluent English communication skills
- BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT or a related field
Good to have:
- Experience with AWS serverless services such as Lambda and DynamoDB
- Experience with CI/CD and/or DevOps practices
- Previous experience with connected systems, IoT, automotive or telecom
