Overview

The University of Helsinki is Finland's oldest university, tracing its origins to 1640 in Turku before moving to Helsinki in 1828. It has eleven faculties on four campuses in Helsinki, together with research stations elsewhere in Finland and in Kenya. For 2024 it reported 31,871 degree students and 8,796 employees.
