Overview

The Royal Institute of Art is a small state art school in Stockholm whose origins go back to an academy founded in 1735; it took its present name and status in 1909 and separated fully from the academy in 1978. Teaching covers fine art from painting, sculpture and print-making to video, sound, photography and performance.
